Growers, Breeders & Seed Stewards
Growing. Breeding. Preserving.
Learning from one another.
Celosia Society is welcoming growers, breeders, and seed stewards.
Founding purpose
Celosia Society is an independent community for people interested in growing, breeding, preserving, documenting, and learning about celosia.
The Society is new. The plants, questions, and accumulated experience are not.
The history, identity, and survival of older named celosias.
→02Living grow-outs and preservation records, including Chinese Wool Flower.
→03Historic and current breeders, their varieties, and ongoing selections.
→04Practical information about growing, selecting, saving, and maintaining celosia seed.

Historical documentation, surviving seed, and living populations will be distinguished carefully. Inference will not be presented as fact.
Grower-led preservation record
This preservation grow is being conducted by Celosia Society founder Amy Casca in Ripley County, Missouri. The Society is publishing the record as part of its effort to document living celosia collections and grower-led preservation work.
The grow record will distinguish seed-source information, direct observation, historical documentation, and questions that remain unresolved.
A serious home for the people growing, preserving, selecting, and studying celosia—and for the knowledge that would otherwise remain scattered among them.
